About ECS
ECS spun out of one of Scotland’s most respected law firms in May 2007 and by mid June of that year the firm had completed its first significant deal, an £8.5m equity investment acting for a pan-European private equity syndicate.
In its first 12 months of business ECS advised on transactions with an aggregate deal value in excess of £130 million.
With an expanded UK investor client base which includes venture capital trusts, angel syndicates and banks we now, in addition, act for a range of central European, US, Scandinavian and Saudi equity investors on UK investments. This in turn expands our investor contact base and extends our reach for fundraising projects for our own investee clients’ benefit.
Our expertise is in corporate deal negotiation/execution and the provision of commercially savvy legal advice.
We operate differently to most legal practices as we don’t profess to be all things to all men. The ECS structure allows us, when necessary, to engage specialist and respected external lawyers who operate in niche areas of the law for specific elements of transactions. Always people we enjoy working with but, more importantly, always people engaged on a “best lawyer for the job” basis.
